Aceite Alzina is a family-run olive oil operation close to the town of Canyelles in the Catalonian countryside.

FROM VINEYARDS TO OLIVE TREES

​Originally, vineyards were farmed on the property, but in 2003 we gradually replaced these with olive trees. Now, we have 3600 olive trees of the Arbequina variety spread over 14 hectares. We chose the Arbequina variety as it was the best option for the dry and rocky terrain found in the region.

LOCATION

The farm is located near Canyelles, a small town in the Catalonian hillside. The town is only about 12km from the coast. The combination of being in the hills, but also not too far from the coast, lends the soil a dry and rocky quality, which is suitable for the Arbequina olive variety.
